India Justice Report

The India Justice Report, a first of its kind study, is an initiative of Tata Trusts undertaken in partnership with Centre for Social Justice, Common Cause, Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative, DAKSH, TISS-Prayas, Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy and How India Lives.  It ranks states according to their capacity to deliver justice to all, using governmental data of the four pillars of the justice system, viz. police, prisons, judiciary and legal aid to assess the budgets, infrastructure, human resources, workloads, diversity and trends in each state, against its own declared standards. This is a pathbreaking endeavour, consolidating the efforts of numerous individuals and organisations working towards the improvement of the Indian justice system.
